Mark Matheny is President and and chief executive officer of MFM Engineering. The company was founded in 2014 after the sale of Tek Industries, an electronic contract manufacturing company to North Hartland Tool Corp of Vermont.
Mark opened his first company, TEK Electronics Manufacturing, in 1984 as a contract maufacturing company and incorporated a number of subsidiaries to create TEK Industries in 1994. The company specialized in engineering design and manufacture and prospered till the sale in early 2014.
Mark is an electrical engineer and Inventor, who has developed award-winning products for the general public and State and Federal governments. As President, his entrepreneurial leadership and mindful customer care have given MFM Engineering an esteemed reputation. He values his customers, and is always ready to think out of the box and explore ways to fulfill specific customer needs.
In honor of his accomplishments, the United States Business Administration selected Matheny as Connecticut’s Small Business Person of the Year in 1994 and he was honored by President Clinton at the White House. Matheny also received the Connecticut Governor’s Award for Exporting in 1995 and was featured on the cover of Business Solutions magazine in 2004. He is a holder of a number of patents in the communication area.
You can usually find Mark sitting at a computer looking over a design or running a simulation to improve the efficency or cost of the product. If you ask him why he does it, his usual response "I like to tinker".
